Ear clamps differ from hose clamps with worm screw:
- Simple version intended for single use.
- Difficult to detach after confirmation.
- The clamp looks tight and something is less likely to get caught.
The inner ring single ear clamps contain a thin and stainless steel inner ring, which runs under the ear opening, enclosing the hose circumference over the full 360 degrees. The insert ring thus strengthens the clamping force. Result: a much improved seal compared to the 1-ear hose clamps without inner ring. In addition, the flattened corners of the inner ring protect the hose when closing the ear clip. The insert ring prevents cutting of the hose and these single ear clamps with inner ring are therefore suitable for soft and flexible hoses.
The ears of two ear clamps have no dimple and an almost double clamping range, compared to the 1-ear clamp. 2 ears provide some elasticity for changes in the size of the parts, such as those caused by thermal expansion or vibration.
Installation is similar to that for 1-ear clamps, but the force applied when closing the second ear may respond to the opposite closed ear and require a second closure. For perfect sealing, the ears should be closed sufficiently during installation.
